Scope of Work
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Provide onsite support for C290 Innovation Lab to create digital models of tools, test jigs, test equipment, and related 3-D printed material.
- Provide technical assistance and training for workforce development in digital modeling software.
- Operate 3-D printers to include Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), Stereolithography (SLA), 3-D scanner to create digital models of objects, and utilize 3-D Computer-aided design (CAD) modeling software such as SOLIDWORKS or similar CAD software.
- Operate Computer Numerical Control (CNC) routers and desktop CNC mills such as SHOPBOT and Bantam Othermill. Operate typical shop tools to include band saw, hand drill, and other common tools.
- Assist MARMC personnel in creating CAD models, teach basic modelling and fabrication skills in one-on-one and small classroom settings.
- Provide outreach to grow MARMC’s utilization of the Innovation Lab including demonstration of laboratory material and equipment.
- Conduct research and prepare reports and presentations for management.
Qualifications Required for the Position
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain security clearance and clearing necessary background checks/assessments as required. Active high-level Security Clearance will be required, and current Security Clearance is desired.
- Target Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience utilizing Additive and Subtractive manufacturing tools and software in a fast-prototyping environment.
- Target Education: Possess a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
- Have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of military and civilian personnel. Possess excellent communication skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Physical requirements for efficient navigation aboard US Navy ships includes possessing the physical stamina, strength, agility, and endurance to walk continuously for extended periods of time without experiencing significant fatigue, adequate upper and lower-body strength necessary to climb ladders, stairs, ramps, and work aloft, and agility necessary to enter/exit confined spaces (tanks, voids, and spaces/compartments with manhole access).
